Acceptance of Terms

You’ve arrived at Gatton Park! This agreement (“Agreement”) governs your use of this website (the “Site”) between the UK Psychological Association (UKPA) and its subsidiaries and connected organisations (collectively, “UKPA,” “we,” or “us”). The terms and conditions of this Agreement, as well as any guidelines or policies that UKPA posts and updates on the Site, are governed by this Agreement. Site Ownership and Content Use Restrictions

UKPA owns the website. To the extent permitted by law, you accept and agree that this website may contain data and other materials (collectively “Content”) that were created or are under the control of UKPA or its licensees. UKPA has granted you access to the Content, but you agree and acknowledge that the Content or its use, as well as this Site, is protected by patent, copyright and trademark and other proprietary rights (including intellectual property rights), that these rights are valid and protected in all media now existing or later developed, and that your use of the Content shall be ruled and confined by applicable laws. Any commercial use or modification of the Site or its content is a violation of UKPA’s and third parties’ patent, copyright, and other property rights. Furthermore, UKPA holds a copyright in the selection, arrangement, and improvement of the Content, in addition to the rights of UKPA and its licensors in specific portions of the Content. It is strictly forbidden for you to copy or distribute any of the Site and/or the Content, in whole or in part. You are also prohibited from making any modifications to the Site and/or the Content, including but not limited to removing any trademarks, copyright notices, or other proprietary notices.

Access and Termination of Member Services

As a member of UKPA, you must enter your user name and password to access the Member Service sections of the Site. To the extent that you allow another person or entity to use your user account, you acknowledge and agree that you are solely liable for any behaviour that occurs as a result of that person or entity having access to your account. You commit to let us know right away if anything happens that violates this agreement.

  • I your account is stolen or lost, or
  • It is your responsibility to notify us immediately if you notice any unauthorised use of your account, or any other breach of security that might harm the Site. Your failure to abide by the terms of this Section will not result in any liability on the part of UKPA.

For whatever reason, including but not limited to, if UKPA terminates your access rights or removes and discards any Content, you agree that UKPA has the right to do so.

  • If you do not use the Site for a lengthy period of time, as determined by UKPA in its sole discretion.
  • UKPA believes that you have breached any of the terms of this Agreement, and/or that you have violated any of the terms of this Agreement.

You’ve done or failed to do anything that UKPA considers undesirable. You acknowledge and agree that UKPA shall have no responsibility or other obligation to you or any third party in connection with any termination of your access to the Site.

Disclaimer of Warranties

You are solely responsible for your use of the website. The site is offered “as is” and “as available.” without warranty of any kind. Any and all warranties, explicit or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a specific purpose, title and noninfringement, are expressly disclaimed by UKPA with regard to the site. To the fullest extent permitted by law, UKPA disclaims any and all implied warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. UKPA further disclaims any and all responsibility for errors or omissions in the site and/or its content. Your Conduct on the Site

The content, data, information, or other materials (collectively, “User Content”) you upload, publish, email, or otherwise transmit for display on the Site (as permitted by UKPA) are your responsibility if UKPA allows you to do so. The same applies to any and all User Content on the Site, and you are solely responsible for adhering to any third-party rights with regard to any and all User Content that appears on the Site. To use, reproduce, change, adapt, post, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, and display such User Content (in whole or in part) worldwide and/or incorporate it in other works in any form of media or technology now known or later developed is granted automatically by the submission of User Content to UKPA and the warrantie that the owner of such Content has expressly granted the royalty-free perpetual, irrevocable nonexclusive right and licence to do so.You may not transmit or post on the Site any unlawful, harmful, provoking, abusive, taunting, defamatory, vulgar, sexually explicit, hateful, racial, ethnic, or otherwise unwelcome material of any kind, including, but not limited to, any message in any User Content or any product, good, or service. Any sending to individuals or other entities on mailing lists that you do not have full rights to use is explicitly prohibited conduct. Prohibited Conduct by you, or any other party or user of the Site, will not be held responsible or liable by the UKPA for any reason.

Unless you have the express consent of the user whose personal data you want to collect or keep, you are not permitted to do so (s).

You may not intentionally disrupt or tamper with the Site in any way that might harm UKPA or any user of the Site, whether directly or indirectly.

There is a zero-tolerance policy for the transmission of any code, files, and programmes that are known to cause harm to any computer hardware, software, or telecommunications equipment or facilities, including viruses.

Your Warranties

To the extent that you interact with the Site in any way, you represent and guarantee that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to the data that you input into the Site. In addition, you guarantee that your use of the Site and any data entered into or created by the Site, as well as your employees’ and agents’ use of the Site, complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and ordinances. All obligations, fines, penalties or forfeitures resulting from any breaches or lack of rights are exclusively your responsibility.

Your Responsibilities

In addition, you accept and recognise that the quality and completeness of the information and data you provide through the Site are completely your responsibility. Patients’ health and safety are solely your responsibility; relying on the Site in any way does not absolve you of that duty. As a professional, you are responsible for verifying the correctness of data supplied herein and providing backup methods in the event of data loss or the Site’s unavailability. If you use the Site, you accept that UKPA is not providing medical or other health care services, nor is it involved in the practise of medicine, and that UKPA will not be liable for any conduct or omission to act related thereto, save from the limitations on UKPA’s liability set forth in this Agreement.

Disclaimer of Content

Content and/or User Content created by parties other than UKPA will not be screened or reviewed by UKPA, although UKPA has the right to review, deny, monitor, modify or remove any Content and/or User Content that is available on the Site in its sole discretion. This Content and/or User Content review is done at your own risk, and UKPA expressly disclaims any and all duty or obligation to you or anyone else. You agree and recognise that you are solely responsible for any and all Content and/or User Content that you utilise.

Products on Display

We make every effort to guarantee that the colours, designs, and features of the items represented on the Site are correct. As a result, we cannot and do not guarantee that your monitor’s display will be correct in terms of the colours, fonts, design and/or paper material, and we accept no responsibility whatsoever for any differences.

Your Submissions

User Feedback, such as questions, comments, or ideas about the site or its content (collectively, “User Feedback”) that you send to UKPA will be treated as nonconfidential information, and UKPA will have no duty to you with respect to the User Feedback. As a result, you thus accept and recognise that UKPA is free to use and distribute the User Feedback in any way it sees fit, including but not limited to reproduction, disclosure, display, exhibit, transmission, performance, creation of derivative works, and distribution. As a result, UKPA will be allowed to use the User Feedback for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to creating, producing and selling goods and other things that include the User Feedback.. UKPA will not be held responsible or compensated in any way for the User Feedback.

Please be aware that UKPA makes no claims that the information or materials on this website, or the goods or services they offer, are suitable or available for use beyond the United Kingdom. Accessing the Site from outside of the UK is done at your own risk and you are responsible for adhering to any and all relevant local laws. In addition, the site’s software is subject to UK export restrictions. It is prohibited to download or otherwise export or re-export any software from this website.

Intellectual Property Policy

If you violate the intellectual property rights of a third party, UKPA has the right to cancel this Agreement. If you believe your copyright has been violated while using the website, please contact the designated agent listed in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998, 44 UKC.4412(c)(2):

Permissions for the UKPA


The conditions of Title II of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 must be met in order to register a notice of infringement with UKPA. The UK Copyright Office maintains a copy of this statute’s language online.


We reserve the right, at any time, to change or alter our policies on the use of our website and your usage of our website. There will be no liability for UKPA’s deletion or failure to keep any messages and other communications, as well as any other Content or User Content, on the Site. You and UKPA have agreed to this Agreement, which regulates your use of the Site and your relationship with UKPA. If you have a claim or cause of action arising out of or linked to the Site or this Agreement, you must submit it within one year of the date it occurred, regardless of any statute or legislation. You may get notice from the UKPA by email or postal. Notices of modifications to this Agreement may also be shown on the Site at any time and from time to time. This agreement’s section titles are purely descriptive and have no bearing on the agreement’s substance.
